Artist's Comments

I had a hard time with this. The small down hill on the right skwed the perspective and also the crosswalks. This was very challenging since I had never done a cityscape without a direct reference. I really need to improve on the area of backgrounds.

Nihon by ~kasai Is an excellent piece that draws you in to the whole scene, capturing one's attention through the wonderful tapestry of details, reflections, and lights displayed within the picture. (Featured by `hexentanz)

holy wonderful. I'm not good at anything critical when it comes to awesome works. I love all the shapes, and the combination of loose and tight areas in the image.

cool stuff! I'm impressed with how dedicated you are to doing backgrounds. I'm no so keen on them myself. :p

I think it's excellent, :+fav: all the way. If you don't mind me asking, do you use airbrush or just a regular paintbrush to get that coloring? I've recently moved to drawing cityscapes as opposed to people and i'm having a bit of a hard time coloring them.

Thanx:) I generally use the regular paintbrush with the pen pressure on(Wacom). Sometimes i'll change the shape of the brush such as a square brush.
:iconwolfe-gtp:
Thnx, I gotta get me a watcom someday T.T Any size suggestions? like 5x6?

I have the smallest one, Graphire 4x5. But I would suggest getting the Wacom Intuos 6x8 or 9x12.
