Adara was reared in a matriarchal society; men were not held in high esteem. From her earliest years she was taught to track and hunt--two things she now excels at. She is never without her powerful Orachalcum longbow, which was a gift from her mother. Adara’s tribe was isolated from other villages, and she is naturally skeptical of strangers, especially men. Though she is slow to trust, once she has aligned herself to a person, group of people, or ideal, she is fiercely loyal, to the death if necessary. She prefers action to words, and with no social skills to speak of, she often comes across as brisk or rude. She is uncomfortable expressing “softer emotions” in front of others; she only allows those emotions to surface when she is alone or with someone she trusts implicitly. She is confused by "city life" and prefers nature and wide open spaces to the confines of cities. Because of the loss of her tribe and family and also in part to her reserved nature, Adara rarely smiles or laughs.
