Hey everyone. I want to thank everybody for the comments on my previous burnout journal, it really means a lot! Lots of juicy advice that Im currently adopting. Also want to thank my artist co-workers at the office. I will be getting back to the remaining comments in the next few weeks.

Ive finally started a Youtube page > www.youtube.com/user/lejeanX3
Ill be uploading both full videos and samples from Patreon. I get many questions about my process and I hope what I put up can answer some of your questions.

Cheers and Thank you!

So Good to see you are back to updating things. I have missed seeing your posing and character art. You are an inspiration for interesting poses. I also really enjoy your outfit design.  Hope to see more work from you in the future. DO you come up with poses on your own or do you find inspiration for them somewhere?

Thank you for watching!
I do come up with poses on my own but when Im struggling with a pose, I use the mirror or try to find a reference. I do studies as well to add to my visual memory.

Iv been watching you for some time. You have always been one of my fav artist to watch. Yeah I have never thought about using myself as reference. Do you do life drawing? I'm finding that life drawing sessions have been really helpful for me. Who are some of your inspirations?

Every once in a while Ill go to a sketch group. I used to do train sketches a lot too. Now, I usually use sites like PixelLovely and Posemaniacs, also pose books to study from.
Some of my inspirations are in this post> Influence Map - Le'Jean by kasai  (posted in 2011)
Since then, its grown quite a bit.

Ive closed them but I still have yet to get back to the ones that sent an inquiry before closing. Ive been quite burnt out between work, commissions, and Patreon so Ive been taking a break to ease back into everything.

Hi, I was wondering if you could confirm your drawing process for me.  From my understanding you do a bunch of studies of figures from sites such as pixelovely,  portrait and paintings studies, etc trying to incorporate that into your mental library but when you're coming up with your own work you mainly work from imagination particularly for the poses and facial expressions but then you might look up reference for the costume design?

Yes thats right.
It really depends on how familiar I am with the subject matter. Even with the human body, if its a hand gesture, pose, etc that Im not familiar with, Ill pose in front of a mirror or look for an image that resembles what Im looking for. Anything that Im not familiar with, whether it be a design archetype, anatomy, etc. I will search for refs to get a better understanding.
Hope this helps!

When you find the reference of an image do you simply analyze the image in your head then put it away or are you looking at it while you draw ?

Its never an absolute. When I use a mirror, I have to take it all into my memory then sit back down and get to it. If Im not sure, Ill get up again and pose in front of the mirror. Images on the other hand, are easy to keep on the side the whole time youre working. For example, the material for leather. I would keep several refs open while working while I try to understand how the material works at the same time. Sometimes I think that putting an image away after youve looked at it (much like standing in front of a mirror) can help strengthen your memory.
